Amazingly, but not unexpected, I have no miles and points related blog posts I found worthy of sharing with you today. Is this is a sign that the golden era of miles and points is behind us?  Can we  see more mergers please? I mean, really, how many blogs do we need faking excitement about how good the credit cards that pay them the most are again and again? Don’t get me started on all the “deals” everyone repeats, weekly summaries, Southwest/JetBlue sales, gift card promos, buy miles/points deals & Amazon pumps to prey on unsuspecting readers and hijack their browsers with the affiliate cookies…and on and on.

Ok, I feel better now. This blog is like a catharsis for me. At the same time, I am about to close in on my 4 year anniversary TBBing and hitting 50 is within sight…and I am reevaluating my life…what’s next? I sure had a lot of time to reflect on stuff like that while in Iran…

Ok, here is what impressed me recently. Will try to limit it to ten links….well, I said that before. Here we go:

Update 1: Well, I guess you can register for the Club Carlson promotion HERE to earn Double Points for stays through December 31, 2016. Do NOT choose Double Elite Qualifying Nights (unless you are one of those rare people wanting to re-qualify for Concierge status. Or something).

Update 2: Oh, also, by the way, no more cooperation between two Virgins. Virgin Atlantic and Virgin America that  is. If you recently were sold by a blogger to use Virgin Atlantic miles on Virgin America flights…you were just screwed. Which happens almost daily now. You got…less than 2 weeks! Which is always so much more of a notice than what the Delta Skymiles exec assholes will ever give you.

I usually have one personal finance post here. Well, I am placing this one first today because it is one of the best reads lately, a MUST READ, I really do not want you to miss it. You are welcome.

Dumb Alpha: Do The Right Thing

The Only Train From Baghdad. What a wonderful and touching story. The part about the looting after the US invasion: “I was there the day they started looting the trains,” Al-Karkhi says, standing in a pillaged train carriage with a look of grief in his eyes. “I felt like parts of my body were being cut off and taken away.

Ichiran opens its first US location. In New York. A minimalist ramen shop. You and your noodles. Alone. Mediate on food, no interactions. Sounds intriguing!

Remember the awesome BMW films with Clive Owen? There is a new one: The Escape

      1. @Charlie….sorry, forgot to include that TBB TR info in my predictions of the future yesterday….it will be June of 2018 to be precise

  1. Serious Question……Does anyone know if BOA Travel Rewards, Capital One products or Barclay Arrival card reimburse for Airport Parking (PDX)? thanks

  2. Barclay Card for parking. If you mean ‘does Barcays treat parking as a travel expense”. Barclays only treats expendictures over $100 as travel for its Arrivals plus card. Do you have a parking charge greater than $100?

    If so, why?
