I got back in touch with humanity at my local Wal-Mart attempting to use my only remaining Bluebird. It was a no go so I changed my MO 🙂
It got so boring over the weekend…Of course the pumping never stops…Not sure why Randy attacked me…if it was him. To my haters! I expressed myself and I still get grief! Don’t talk to me about democracy and all that jazz and then bitch at me for expressing what so many are thinking AND not keeping it quiet! I think it is about education and someone needs to do PSAs because some newbies will actually think that “credit is their most important asset” lol.

What the locals call “semana santa” – allegedly a week of religious observations and celebrations – is over. Personally I call it “semana insanity” because the government shuts down, 85% of the country heads for the beach, the celebrations involve consuming mass quantities of adult beverages (not that THAT is a bad thing), and the trash left behind seriously puts the lie to the claim of being an “eco-paradise”.

Had a great dim sum with Big Habitat and his family yesterday. He has had some experience with the Anbang Group in his business. He called them “it is the North Korea of the insurance world”. Not sure these guys will be better for Marriott….Oh, screw it. We know what we get from Marriott. At least with Anbang the Starwood will survive…initially that is.
The Starwood execs are making out like bandits here, WOW!
Big Habitat is the Idi Amin of metaphor makers.
What does this mean? Does this mean that Anbang is not transparent in their dealings, that they treat their customers poorly, or that they have labor camps?
Genuinely curious to know the answer here.
Very unpredictable company. Its leader is as unpredictable and eccentric as the Great Leader himself. Plays big. Some risks they insure are untouchable by other insurance companies. Transparency not the strongest point. Frankly, I am starting to have doubts…as with most Chinese companies ya just never know what lies underneath 🙂 Gets back to lesser evil I guess. We know what we get with Marriott. We don’t know what we get with Anbang which has stated they intend to keep the Starwood brand. So…I hope they win it and we can move on instead of having Marriott methodically sticking the knife to us over the coming year or two..
Or maybe we wait until some travel thought leader tells us what will happen lol.
