Welcome to all new readers arriving here from the Frugal Travel Guy site! This was written before my pleasant surprise. I will try to have an extra blog post responding to my friend Rick later this week.

As warned previously on twitter (please follow me @FlyerTalkerinA2) the new Chase Ink credit card links are out now for all bloggers who are pushing them like they are the best credit cards in the whole galaxy and make you feel like you are a complete idiot for not getting them! Never mind that for many people getting a credit card and telling them to go charge $10k (excuse me, now it is ONLY $5k) is very dangerous and potentially…lethal! Never forget that “credit is your most important asset” by the way. So…watch out for the onslaught and cherish the incredible information shared by every single blogger pimping them cc links!

 

In that infamous FlyerTalk threat, AlohaDaveKennedy breaks the news about “The next great opportunity has arrived” post:

Isn’t there anyone out there who is not Platinum in Accor hotels? Really? Have you ever stayed in an Accor hotel? Me neither! But I do like my Platinum card. We in this hobby are complete suckers for everything Platinum and Diamond! I think we are all sick in the head! I just want you to know it is OK not to go for it!

Are you or any family member a “person of size”? Do you know what the policies of each airline are towards you? A kind reader sent a link with all airline policies. I think this may be helpful. Now put down those french fries and Coke ok? Don’t give me the “but it’s Diet” line!!

Ben has a unique taste of humor. This tweet by him made me laugh: “WTF! In club lounge and guy wants to buy my sweater from me. Claims he’s a designer and really likes it. Already took pics.”  – I just can picture that. Why stuff like this does not happen to me?

Tweet by Frequent Miler : “Maybe we should start tweeting whenever @BoardingArea is up instead of when its down. Save tweets.” – Should be better now that BA has migrated to a new host. Last night it was painful as the migration was occurring. Come on guys, this should have been done so long ago. Please reimburse all the bloggers for missing so much $$$$ from all the credit card applications that went to other sites! Yeah, suuuuure you will.

Another reason I started this blog was to do my part to educate and leave this world a better place. So, once in a while, I would be adding some stuff that I found them to be very worthy of reading which may not be exactly related to our hobby. As this: 10 Life Lessons People Learn Too Late

I canceled my Barclays US Air card yesterday as the annual fee was coming up. WAIT for the 10,000 US Air miles (for renewal) to hit your account and THEN cancel the card! Prepare for some pressure by the Barclays rep to keep the card. My idea of dropping the annual fee or giving me ANOTHER 10k miles was not accepted. Therefore I cancelled and then this is how the BarclaysBank rep reacted!

Yes folks, this is an actual ex Barclays Bank employee! Warning: Video contains VERY foul language!

 

Blogger Kathy writes “Will Run for Miles” and likes to run Marathons everywhere. Sometimes she adds comments about Mr. Won’t Run for Miles which are hilarious! Breaking news by her: “Mr Won’t Run For Miles has offered to write a guest blog on a topic known only to him.  If it’s as good as his prior Brother Can You Spare a Pesopost then we’re in for a treat.” Ohhhh, the suspense!”

Actually, I just can not concentrate anymore because of the anticipation of this momentous occasion!

Garyhas now posted 7 different updates since the last push for a credit card (and that was not an affiliate link either)! I bet my Award Wallet balances a credit card post is coming up…any minute now!

Looks like Frequent Miler and DansDeals is off to the races with this new Staples kind of deal which will not last long. I just don’t have the patience for shuffling all them gift cards, I am too busy writing this blog now, grrrr!

Second day in a row MMS has no wife pics, hooray!

I wonder if I start hotel reviews the hotels will start showering me with freebies such as points, stays, swag, etc. Then again, reading over my posts here and how I like to rant, they would steer clear of me!!

 

Why will anyone make the effort to post a comment to receive a Delta luggage tag is beyond me!

Comment in FrequentMiler post about the Staples deal: “Nice arrows. Is this MMS posting as a guest contributor? The only thing missing is a pic of Emily talking to a Staples store manager telling him how to game the system.” [If FM allows MMS as a guest contributor I will never have lunch with FM again. Yes, this is a warning!]

    This deal is better than plain old Ice Cream that the world has gone gaga over. I mean I’m getting paid $1,000 cash to collect some 80K UR points!

    @Dan: I know, I know. Just hit me at an extremely busy weak and all free time I ever had is now taken up by following up on comments on this blog and on twitter. I like up straight Vanilla much better compared to them pesky gift card messing around:-) And by the time I get to it this one too would be dead #storyofmylife
