    1. How can the media net household wealth in Spain be #3 in the world. What did I miss? Housing prices collapsed, unemployment rate is still high and the economy has yet to recover. And Carlos is still living at home. If living at home, pulls up the median, Italy should be #1 on this list.

      1. Other factors, such as family size and household debt, could explain why Spain has high household wealth. Example #1: If housing prices collapsed in Spain, but the house wasn’t heavily mortgaged, it’s still worth more than a house that was lost to bankruptcy in the U.S. Example #2: Whether living at home or not, if people have fewer children in Spain, then median wealth is preserved as it passes on to the next generation. If people have more children in the U.S., it gets divided.

        1. Appears to be an issue of comparing apples and oranges. The data is from at least a 6 year period. Spanish households are much bigger than Northern Europeans. And household ownership is very different (high in Spain and Italy but low in Germany). Household is your most leveraged investment. I doubt recent house prices are reflected in this data.

  1. Hello.

I enjoyed the list of previous posts the other day, especially “Voices in My Head”.

    😀

    1. As warned, I got the “upgrade” to a nice sounding room in the executive floor lounge. I did not get even a bay view room and was too jet lagged to notice or care. Room is fantastic. Lounge is great, just much smaller than expected. Packed in reception 6-8pm last night. Service is amazing, the Japanese are soooo polite, wow!
      Forget suite upgrades here.
