We start off with a must read blog post: “The Dark Side of Miles and Points“. Folks, this is an addiction! I have always been VERY careful of who I talk to about this hobby. Because, you know, I am very well aware of the fact that this hobby can consume you and make you do stupid things and, if you are not the type, make you do very illogical things and you can lose perspective pretty quick. Or, you can kill your credit score, get buried in credit card debt and annual fees, lose jobs and hurt relationships with loved ones….I could go on.

To me, even now that I am a blogger, this hobby has been a game, I love the thrill of scoring something for free or a ridiculous fraction of the actual cost. I have done my best to keep it that way…because, if not…Alexa rankings and dollars/conversions take over and pretty soon it becomes a real job and I already have one which I happen to like, thank you very much. I just don’t want to lose money doing this and I would love to make minimum wage at least because the psychic rewards of blogging are important to me and it IS the reason I have not quit yet. All the big Titan bloggers who keep selling credit cards…to anyone who breathes can get approved they are hurting many people who should not be playing this game. But hey, they are successful. Whatever!

What still works for Amex Platinum PRG airline fee reimbursement. Hate giving the Amex Rewards Abuse team the keys…but hey, my Alexa rankings are so low that it does not matter so I think you will find this post helpful and I am sure you know what you are doing.

Now that the Alaska Airlines and Virgin America merger is complete, here is what is going to happen. Oh, in the meantime, you can enter to win two round trip tickets!

If you wanted to escape Trump and move to Europe, this may help: The 12 easiest and cheapest countries for gaining European Union residency. I was very surprised to see Austria at #1!

This is great: Guide to 10 unforgettable, one-of-a-kind bars around the world. Cheesy blogger question would be “which one is your favorite?”. TBB question would be “In which one did you hook up?” or “In which one you drank so much you made an ass of yourself?”. Feel free to add in your own in the comments πŸ™‚

Too much negativity this year. Time to turn this around now! 99 reasons Why 2016 Was a Good Year. Cheer up, the best is yet to come!

No personal finance advice post today, just a grim reminder how many newbies get hit by repeated barrage of credit card sales marketing in this space. US household now owe over $16,000 in credit card debt. I wish one day in the US we don’t allow charlatans and totally unqualified people to give ANY financial advice. ANY includes promoting debt by repeated posts that exist ONLY to sell credit cards to the masses.

Well, we have a winner in the 2016 World Travel Awards. It is the GVK Lounge by TFS Performa which is located at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India.

There is a dining area with the vibe of a gourmet restaurant in the first class lounge, serving up Indian, Asian, Arabic and continental cuisines. Think Steamed Egg Bao for breakfast, Lobster Bisque or Maple Salmon as a starter for lunch or dinner, followed by Ravioli Porcini or Lamb Biryani, finished with a selection of desserts. tandoori and dim sum platters

Fascinating post: Mikhail Baburin is the only resident of Mikhailovka in Siberia.

Thanx for linking people to cheap(er) Euro zone countries to escape the US. Tired of answering questions about Central America.
