Weed...everyhere!
Weed…everywhere!

The cave so huge it has its own weather system: Explorers discover a lost world with thick cloud and fogs trapped inside This new Er Wang Dong cave in China is simply gigantic. More pictures and a (bad) video.

Awesome earth from above. By Seriously For Real? I wish one day our miles can take us there so we can see these amazing scenes! [Note: Links below may not work. Blame politicians #shutdown]
Earth Observatory: “From its vantage 824 kilometers (512 miles) above Earth, the Visible Infrared Imager Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP) satellite gets a complete view of our planet every day. This image from November 24, 2011, is the first complete global image from VIIRS.” Photo #22 by NASA’s NPP Land Product Evaluation and Testing Element

This is a beach I used to go swimming every summer growing up. Right before this lays the longest beach in the Mediterranean. It is in central Greece. Three little villages: Agiokabos, Sotiritsa, Velika. Widely popular now with locals, still mostly undiscovered by foreign tourists. A Motel 8 would be considered a step up from the local hotels (think there are three, don’t ask) and tiny rooms to let. My family still has a tiny place there and my father had the best garden in the whole area. Since his passing four years ago we let someone stay there for free and maintain it. Maybe one day I will return there…Nah, I prefer Fairmonts and other nice hotels for Free with my hotel points 🙂

  1. George, A week without “negative” I’m really proud of you my friend for trying that.

    Thanks

    Rick

  2. Today’s MMS interview was a paid advertisement by some wannabe app developer. A new low for MMS? Taking cash for posting an advertisement and then disguising it as a normal post. And look at the fake comments praising the apps. Give him an ‘A’ for creativity.

    1. Sadly you are right. The series is supposed to be “where travel bloggers share their insights” but the site is all app and very little blog.

    2. How do we know it is actually paid? If it was, I hope there is a disclosure somewhere and I do not see one. Seems to me not many actual bloggers left?

My beef with it is these guys are not bloggers!!!

  3. From the FAQ on bestwestern.com:

Do my Best Western Rewards® points ever expire?

Best Western Rewards® points do not expire for members of the North American club, which includes members who reside in North, Central and South America, Asia and South Africa. Points may expire for members who reside in other countries not mentioned above. Please contact the Best Western Rewards® Customer Care center nearest you for additional information.

  4. Fascination with marijuana?

I like the dark side you cover, Choomkaro G…

Let’s see if anyone can figure out what that second line means.

    1. Over the past week another blogger told me how I totally suck in SEO. Actually I had never given it much thought. So, apparently, the titles are very important. So I killed the dates and have tried to add “words” that can bring people here from searching in Google—->marijuana. Besides, they do make interesting topics, smoking it up in North Korea and Albania, you won’t find this stuff in Boarding Area!!!

      Choomk what??

  5. Buzz…….Wailea Maui trip report. Most people who visit Maui wonder if they can buy Maui Wowi. We’ll if your on the South side of the island, exit your Wailea resort hotel, turn right and drive 2 miles towards Makena Beach. On the right you will see an orange shave ice truck, with a stencil picture of Bob Marley (clearly the sign of quality). You are there.
Buzz feel free to delete this if you deem inappropriate, but it beats trip reports w/ pictures of toilet bowls.

  6. Does Roe vs. Wade only apply to fetuses?

Because MMS Friday interview series needs to be aborted

He’s moved on from interview terrible bloggers to not even interviewing bloggers

Maybe next he’ll interview software developer for the United app?

  7. Hey, George! If anyone catches you being negative this week, do they get a giftcard? Accountability…

  8. Looking at the Vietnam War photos at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City was one of the most awful but impacting things I’ve ever done. I imagine those photographers saw things they wish they could forget.
    Unreal.

    1. Seeing stuff like that stays with you. One day I will visit Vietnam and see those for myself. Seeing these pictures is very powerful…just can not imagine being in that museum.

      War is Hell.
