Trip Report From the Past: Rome, Italy Cavalieri

I found some old pics from our trip to Rome back in 2007. It was part of a larger trip returning from Greece. Do not even question how, airline miles and hotel points of course. We stayed at the Cavalieri in Rome back when it was an awesomebargain with Hilton HHonors points. Good memories and good times! There is  lot here, I should add this to the Trip Reports section…

The first two nights we stayed at the magnificent Hilton Cavalieri Hotel (using Hilton points). Dad is a Gold Elite with the Hilton program so we were upgraded to a nice large room on the Executive floor which allowed us the use of the SUPERB lounge, more on that below.

Back to the Cavalieri Hotel, hanging out at the lounge balcony with the view at the back of Vaticans’ St. Peter

the amazing food in the Lounge never stops, and everything with just super service!

we decided to do a bus tour, so lots of pics taken from this bus follow

After some rest we got back on the bus. Here is the Termini train station where all trains to Rome stop.

Of course we had to go inside the Colloseum

with the car service going back to the airport area to stay one night at the Hilton Airport hotel, which was a big letdown compared to the Cavalieri. We did this because our flight to Amsterdam was at 6.15 am, otherwise we would have stayed at the Cavalieri one more night

We were going to take lots of pics at the Vatican but our digital camera died before we got there, sorry!

The next day KLM took us to Amsterdam and then Dusseldorf!
